CHRISTIAN EDUCATION - Children and Youth

Nursery

A crib nursery for children birth – 18 months and a toddler nursery for 2 year olds is available upstairs in the office building on Sundays beginning at 8:00am.

Children’s Sunday School

The Children’s Sunday School Classes meet in the Pre-school classrooms found in the Murphy Smith Center. All children’s classes will be using the PC (USA) We Believe curriculum.

PreK (3 & 4 year olds) Room 102

K – First Grade (ages 5-6) Room 202

Second & Third Grades (ages 7-8) Room 203

Fourth & Fifth Grades (ages 9-10) Room 204

Specific room assignments subject to change

 

Youth Sunday School

Sixth & Seventh Grades

This class meets in the Lighthouse and uses the We Believe curriculum.

Eighth Grade

The eighth grade class at First Presbyterian is a confirmation class. The curriculum used is Discovering, Choosing and Following Jesus Christ by the Reverend William H. Venable. This class is open to all youth eighth grade or older who have not made a public profession of faith and would like to take part in the confirmation experience. Students will be confirmed at the Ash Wednesday service February 21, 2007. The class will meet in the Session House Library.

Ninth – Twelfth Grades

This class also meets in the Lighthouse and uses the We Believe curriculum as well as topical lessons.
